How do you bottle a summer’s day, capture the essence of Christmas, or gift-wrap a woodland walk?

A New Forest woman with a heightened sense of smell believes she has found the answer.

Debbie Mulkern, a qualified aromatherapist for 25 years has created a range of unique products inspired by living in the New Forest.

Debbie, whose company New Forest Aromatics is based at Setley Ridge Vineyard, Brockenhurst, says: ‘Creating the right mix of essential oils is like the creative process an artist might go through – getting a picture in their mind of how it will look. I get the smell in my head and begin blending ingredients to create that smell.’

The New Forest Aromatics range includes home fragrancing products, candles, lip balms, scented sachets, and reed diffusers all infused with uniquely-blended essential oils to enhance your mood. Ranges include Forest Essence, English Flowers, Sunny Day and Herb Garden. Not only do the scents of the range evoke life in the Forest but many of the ingredients come from the local area and some of the products have been awarded the New Forest Marque – assuring customers of a quality product with at least 25% of ingredients from the New Forest.

New Forest Aromatics also have a toiletry and luxury range packed with organic and natural biodegradable ingredients but without any synthetic colours, fragrances, no parabens, no SLS, etc. These beautiful products include hand wash, shower gel, hand & body lotion, bath foam gardener’s hand care, lip balms and bath salts.

Everything is handmade and we use totally natural raw materials from sustainable suppliers with an ethical or fair trade policy and as local as possible.

In addition to creating the New Forest Aromatics range Debbie also teaches natural perfumery workshops in The New Forest and designs bespoke aromatic ranges for a number of companies both in the UK and internationally.
